Rohit Sharma became the second-fastest batter to reach the 11,000-run landmark in one-day internationals during India’s ICC Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh on Thursday, February 20, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. (Full Coverage | More Cricket News)

The Indian skipper reached the feat in his 261st innings, behind Virat Kohli, who reached the milestone in 222 innings. India’s legendary Sachin Tendulkar got there in his 276th innings.

Rohit opened alongside his deputy Shubman Gill after Bangladesh were bowled out for 228 in 49.4 overs.

Rohit is now behind former India skipper Sourav Ganguly (11,363 runs) in the overall list of highest run-scorers in one-day internationals with Tendulkar leading the charts, comfortably with 18,246 runs in 463 matches.
